The Valley‘s Brittany Cartwright shared some exciting updates on her 4-year-old son Cruz Michael Cauchi’s progress, attributing some of his recent “big wins” to her split from Jax Taylor.
Brittany unveiled Cruz’s sensory room during Season 3, Episode 2, before further detailing how he’s been “saying more words here and there,” on The Valley After Show.
“I think that Cruz’s growth is, honestly… I hate to say this, but, like, seeing his mom happier and being, you know, out of a toxic situation,” she said, referring to her and Jax’s separation. “And maybe even seeing his dad happier whenever he’s with him. I don’t know. That could be helping everybody.”
Also helping matters is the fact that Brittany and Cruz are all moved and settled back into their family home.
“We’re grounded again,” Brittany explained. “And it’s his safe space and his happy place. I just think that he’s doing so much better because he’s not being moved around to all these different places.”

Where Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor’s co-parenting relationship stands today
An After Show producer pointed out that Jax recently moved out of his townhouse, and Brittany revealed that she had not been to his new home yet.
“But I make him send me videos before I let Cruz go over there,” she added. “And he does have, like, a nice room and a nice playroom for Cruz. And he comes over to my house sometimes, and I’ve caught him taking some toys out of my house to take over there. And I’m just like, ‘Just buy your own.’ But whatever; it’s for my son, so I don’t care. But he’s definitely trying when it comes to that.”

As for how co-parenting with Jax is going in general, Brittany admitted that it “literally depends on the day,” however.
“Some days are good and just fine,” she elaborated. “Other days are just the same.”

Are Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor divorced?
No. Though Brittany filed to divorce Jax in August 2024, the two are still legally married.
Brittany previously shared during BravoCon 2025 in November that she hoped their divorce would be finalized by the end of the year, but that did not come to fruition.
“The hardest thing about the actual divorce is just that it keeps getting pushed back and pushed back and pushed back,” she explained during a January interview on the Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey podcast. “I’ve got everything in now, so I am good to go…but if the other person doesn’t, then it just keeps getting delayed and delayed.”

Tom Schwartz shares details on Jax Taylor’s new home
Elsewhere in the above clip from The Valley After Show, newly full-time Season 3 cast member Tom Schwartz also confirmed that Jax is no longer his neighbor.
“He found a significantly better deal for pretty much the same place that’s, like, about a half mile away,” Schwartz revealed. “And it’s lovely. I haven’t seen it yet, but, um, yeah. I had mixed feelings about it, because he was a really good neighbor. Never heard one peep out of that man. He was the most quiet neighbor ever.”
As for his take on Brittany and Jax’s dynamic today? “Everything seems kind of amicable,” Schwartz weighed in. “It seems better.”
