GILMAN, Wis. (WSAW) – One tornado touched down in Taylor County on April 13, according to the Gilman Rural Fire Department and the National Weather Service.

The tornado was located in Gilman, north of State Highway 64, at Elder Drive and traveled northeast to the Hannibal area.

No injuries were reported. There was minor structural damage to a barn in the area.

The Taylor County Emergency Manager is working with the National Weather Service to determine the rating of the tornado.

The National Weather Service is working to confirm a second tornado reported on April 13 by a trained weather spotter north of the town of Chelsea and indicated by radar.

NWS said there are unconfirmed reports that the tornado may have lifted and possibly touched down again as the storm traveled toward the Chelsea area.

The Taylor County Emergency Manager will be surveying that area to share information with the National Weather Service.

NOTE: Emergency Management initially confirmed both tornadoes on Monday.
