SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. — Both directions of Interstate 90 at Snoqualmie Pass are closed due to multiple spinouts and crashes, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation

The closures are between the west of the Snoqualmie Pass summit at milepost 47 to Easton at milepost 71.

A late-season storm is bringing inches of snow to the Cascade Mountains, including to the upper slopes of the eastern crest, Roslyn and Easton, where a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect. Between 4 and 8 inches of snow is expected above 2,500 feet of elevation with winds gusting up to 45 miles per hour.

The National Weather Service warns travel may be difficult during the storm. Drivers are urged to carry an extra flashlight, food and water in their cars and prepare for possible power outages in the mountains.

Unfortunately, the new powder arrived a bit too late for skiers. The Summit at Snoqualmie and Stevens Pass Ski Resort have both closed for the season.
