The most stunning sunset I ever did see in all my almost 29 years of living was one I couldn’t enjoy for long. I was in the first leg of a multi-day trek across the Scottish Highlands with my boyfriend, and the sunset, while beautiful, was a blazing orange, pink and yellow reminder that we were running out of daylight.
There was a lot of ground to cover before we’d arrive at our unmanned campsite for the night, and I wasn’t entirely comfortable about the hill snaking into the dark woods. My boyfriend, a very capable outdoors man, was entrusted with getting us from A to B safely (and erecting our tent when we got there, but I held the torch).
