Timothée Chalamet brings star power to the Oscars red carpet
Timothée Chalamet shines on the 2026 Oscars red carpet for ‘Marty Supreme,’ where he’s nominated for best actor.
Timothée Chalamet‘s Oscar-nominated film “Marty Supreme” is hitting streaming.
Set in 1950s Manhattan, “Marty Supreme” follows a fast-talking, ping-pong hotshot named Marty Mauser (Chalamet), who is dead set on jetting to Tokyo to compete in the global championships. But before he can get there, he needs to scrounge up money and get sponsors, which lands him in a series of violent, get-rich-quick schemes.
According to the film’s synopsis, Marty is “a young man with a dream no one respects,” who “goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness.”
USA TODAY movie critic Brian Truitt gave the film ★★★½ out of four, writing “director Josh Safdie’s globetrotting, genre-busting comedy thriller is a proudly oddball period movie that boasts throwback elements but leans timeless in its unlikely hero’s journey.”
Though the film received nine nominations for this year’s Oscars, including nods for best picture, best original screenplay, best cinematography, best editing, best actor for Chalamet and best director for Josh Safdie, it failed to secure trophies during the March 15 ceremony, which took place shortly after Chalamet received widespread flak from the arts community for saying that “no one cares” about ballet and opera, during a televised sit-down with Matthew McConaughey.
With the film now hitting streaming, here’s what to know about how to watch.
