Ant Anstead knows he’s the “luckiest boy” as he celebrates five years with Renée Zellweger!
The Born Mechanic host, 47, took to Instagram to share a sweet tribute to his girlfriend, 56, in honor of their five-year anniversary. Alongside a heartfelt caption, Anstead shared a throwback photo of them from 2021, when they first met on the set of his discovery+ show, Celebrity IOU: Joyride.
“How it started….. Happy FIVE YEAR anniversary my beautiful lady! Hands down The best human I know! Luckiest boy! I love you my Ren 💫❤️ x,” he wrote in the caption.
In the photo, the pair stand in front of a vintage car as Anstead looks down at his now-girlfriend and smiles, while she has a joyful expression on her face.
As the couple tend to keep their relationship out of the public eye, commenters couldn’t help but express their joy over seeing the two together as they celebrated such a big milestone.
“Aw love this, you’re so private about your relationship, which is how it should be imo, but wee posts like this are great. Happy anniversary to you both,” one user wrote.
Another added, “Yay! Finally!! A picture of you two online. You guys look so cute!”
One user recalled watching their first interactions on Celebrity IOU: Joyride: “When I watched that episode you could see the way you looked at each other there was something there… congratulations.”
While Anstead is currently working on season 3 of his Quest TV show Born Mechanic in his native England, he and Zellweger have gone the distance to make their relationship work.
They first met in April 2021 and PEOPLE confirmed the two were officially in a relationship a few months later. In September of that year, a source told PEOPLE that the Bridget Jones’s Diary star was forming a close bond with Anstead’s now 6-year-old son Hudson, whom he shares with his ex-wife, HGTV star Christina Haack.
Anstead is also dad to daughter Amelie, 22, and Archie, 19 — whom Zellweger has also spent time with throughout the years — from his first marriage to ex Louise Storey.

In April 2023, a different source revealed to PEOPLE that the couple had “found a house that they both love and are moving in together” in Southern California after Anstead decided to sell his beloved Temple House in Laguna Beach, Calif., that same month.
Anstead later joined Zellweger in England temporarily while she filmed Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, which was released in February 2025.

While promoting the film, Zellweger made a rare mention of Anstead and commented on their living situation in a January feature for British Vogue, during which she was interviewed by her longtime Bridget Jones’s Diary co-star Hugh Grant.
“I live in Southern California, near San Diego,” Zellweger told Grant after he admitted that he couldn’t remember where she lived. Sharing the reason why, she added, “Because that’s where my fellow lives, and his little boy.”
