Scouting Report

Lance Zierlein’s NFL.com scouting report:
Willis’ run-blocking tape is impressive. He’s quick out of his stance, gets into run fits with good pop/aggression and is a consistent block finisher. However, he lacks the length and anchor associated with pro tackles. He also doesn’t have the broad frame and core strength of a guard. His pass protection can be spotty due to oversets and the aforementioned anchor issue, but he has the quickness/grip strength to compete. Willis can fit as a zone-scheme guard and could be considered as a swing tackle who might need protection help.

More Draft Analysis

Dane Brugler of The Athletic’s Analysis:
A fluid blocker, Willis shines on the move, when he can reach or steamroll defenders in the run game. He skillfully surfaces blocks in zone but can also be a lunger at times. He reaches proper depth in his kick slides, but his reaction quickness and hand use must improve on the interior, where everything is a little bit faster.

Mike Renner of CBS Sports’ Analysis:
Willis is an athletic tackle with the body type to play anywhere along the offensive line. His tape before the MCL tear and later in the season after he fully recovered is what sold me.
