LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — First responders in Ephrata found a missing 9-year-old Tuesday night after using a drone with thermal imaging technology during their search.
The search detail was dispatched to Akron Road just before 9:30 p.m. for a reported child with special needs who had left their property.
Crews from the Ephrata Police Department, Ephrata Pioneer Fire Company, Lincoln Fire Company and Ephrata Community Ambulance Association all responded to the area.

After an extensive search on the ground and via a drone, crews located the child unharmed. The child was evaluated by EMS out of an abundance of caution, Ephrata Pioneer Fire Company said.
