Out there…National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive takes place on Saturday, May 9. Simply leave your donation of non-perishable food in a bag near your mailbox and your letter carrier will pick it up and deliver it to a local food pantry. Each year letter carriers collect donations of non-perishable food items to benefit local food pantries across the country on the second Saturday in May. Since launching in 1993, the NALC annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive has grown into the nation’s largest one-day food drive helping to fill the shelves of food banks in cities and towns throughout the United States, according to the NALC website. 

Scene… The 32nd Annual Celebrity Breakfast supporting the Thomas Merton Family Center and its vital programs serving individuals and families across Fairfield County takes place on Wednesday, May 13 at Sacred Heart University Martire Family Arena in Fairfield at 7 a.m. Former NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst Matt Hasselbeck will serve as guest speaker at the event which supports vital programs for individuals and families throughout Fairfield County. Scene… America 250 Handbell Benefit Concert takes place at The Seaside Gardens at Greenwich Point on Saturday, May 9 at 4 p.m. The concert “Let Freedom Ring Celebrating America at 250” sponsored by the Knollwood Garden Club of Greenwich supports restoring the historic Seaside Gardens on Greenwich Point.
