The Yankees selected Beck‘s contract from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday.

Beck has made seven starts with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season, collecting a 5.11 ERA and 37:8 K:BB over 37 innings. The 27-year-old has been used as a starting pitcher almost exclusively throughout the minors, but he will be broken in as a long reliever at the major-league level.
