Two streets in Fort Smith to be renamed after Oklahoma City Thunder players


City directors approved the renaming on Tuesday night.

FORT SMITH, Ark. — Two Fort Smith streets will soon have new names added to them following a decision by city directors. 

A section of North 25th Street will be renamed after Oklahoma City Thunder guard Isaiah Joe, and a part of North 23rd Street will be renamed after his teammate, Jaylin Williams. 

Fort Smith city directors approved the changes on Tuesday night. 

Both Joe and Williams are Northside High School graduates who played for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Joe played for the Razorbacks from 2018 to 2020, while Williams played from 2020 to 2022. 

They went on to win the NBA Championship with the Thunder last season.
