Former Alabama basketball star Keon Ellis and the Cleveland Cavaliers are officially moving on to the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals.
Ellis and the Cavaliers finished off their Eastern Conference Semifinal series on Sunday night, knocking out the No. 1 seeded Detroit Pistons with a dominant 125-94 win in Game 7. This sent Cleveland, who is the East’s No. 4 seed, to the conference finals where they will meet the No. 3 seeded New York Knicks.
During the series, Ellis saw action in four games for Cleveland, averaging 1.8 points on 50% shooting from the field, as well as 60% from three. Ellis had a three-pointer in each of Games 1, 2, and 7, and grabbed a series-high three rebounds with two steals back in Game 1.
In these playoffs, Ellis has now appeared in eight total games for Cleveland across the first two rounds, scoring 12 points with 12 rebounds, six steals, two assists, and one block. Each of Ellis’ points has also come off a made three-point shot.
The lone former Alabama player whose NBA season is still active, Ellis and the Cavaliers will begin their series with the Knicks on Tuesday night.
