It was in 2024 when the world tearfully said goodbye to Blue Bloods, marking the end of Tom Selleck’s run as patriarch Frank Reagan. While the Blue Bloods story has continued with the CBS spinoff Boston Blue starring Donnie Wahlberg as the beloved Danny Reagan, fans are still holding out hope that maybe one day, Tom Selleck would make his way back onto screens as his beloved character. While the 81-year-old actor has kept a relatively low profile since Blue Bloods concluded, it seems as though he’ll be starting his next chapter on The History Channel in the near future. Here, read all about Tom Selleck and his upcoming true crime show. Plus, take a look at what he’s been up to over the last few years.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Tom Selleck would be making his way to The History Channel as host of Crime and Justice with Tom Selleck (working title). Selleck will narrate, host and executive produce the series, which will unpack some of the most notable crimes and investigations throughout history—and the lawmen and women who put their lives on the line in pursuit of justice. It’s safe to say that all those years on Blue Bloods made quite the impact!

“Throughout my career, I’ve been drawn to stories about consequences and the pursuit of justice,” said Selleck. “This series looks at real cases from across American history and the people tasked with seeing them through—moments when the pressure was intense, the outcome uncertain, and the decisions carried lasting consequences.”

“Tom has long brought credibility and insight to stories about law and justice,” said Eli Lehrer, EVP and Head of Programming at The History Channel. “That background makes him a natural partner for this project. We’re pleased to be working with Tom on a series that looks at real crimes, real investigations, and the people responsible for upholding the law when the stakes were highest.”

The premiere date is TBD

Though there hasn’t been a release date announced yet, we’ve got our fingers crossed that it’s sooner rather than later!
