CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating a shooting outside a Superior Avenue restaurant that sent two teens to the hospital.

According to police officials, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers from the Third District received a call for shots fired in the 3000 block of Superior Avenue outside of Superior Pho. 

“Upon arrival, officers located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds, a 14-year-old male and an 18-year-old male,” officials stated. “Officers immediately rendered first aid until members of Cleveland EMS arrived on scene. Both victims were transported to the hospital and are currently listed in stable condition.”

At the time of the shooting, the restaurant was winding down its lunch service and had nearly a dozen people inside, including diners and staff.

According to a 3News employee who witnessed the shooting, customers inside the restaurant ran toward the kitchen for cover or crouched behind tables after several loud bangs were heard.

Three patrons seated near the front window of the restaurant also witnessed portions of the shooting firsthand. When asked afterward how they were doing, one patron replied that they had “lost their appetite.”

Police said multiple shell casings were found in front of the restaurant’s entrance. Investigators roped off a large portion of the area and were seen canvassing properties around the restaurant plaza as the investigation continued.
