LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — An 18-year-old motorcyclist from Lehigh Acres died after a collision on Treeline Avenue on Wednesday.

The crash happened on Treeline Avenue near Jetport Loop just after 2 p.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said the motorcycle was traveling south on Treeline at a high rate of speed.

Deputies said a car was trying to make a left onto Jetport Loop when the car and motorcycle collided.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

Troopers said the crash is still under investigation.
