Lainey Wilson is officially a married woman.
On May 10, the “Heart Like a Truck” singer tied the knot with her longtime love, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, a retired NFL quarterback who now works as an entrepreneur.
Per Vogue, the couple said “I do” at the foot of a waterfall on a cobblestone ledge in Dickson, Tennessee.
Shortly after their nuptials, the newlyweds attended the 2026 Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on May 17 and all eyes were on Wilson’s ring finger.
The bride’s diamond wedding band was certainly a novelty after she made her marriage official, but her intricate engagement ring was the true talker.
To learn more about the unique ring, TODAY.com sought the expertise of several jewelry pros. Below, they’re sharing all the gorgeous details about the massive sparkler.
Wilson Has a Contemporary Cluster Engagement Ring
Wilson’s engagement ring has a lot of intricate details.
Anubh Shah, the co-founder of engagement ring brand With Clarity, says it’s best described as a “diamond cluster ring with a cocktail ring aesthetic.”
“Instead of featuring a single center stone, the design combines multiple diamond shapes — including oval, pear, marquise and round stones — arranged in a sculptural, floral-inspired cluster that feels bold and dramatic,” Shah says.

Patricia Curts, the co-founder and managing director of UK-based jewelry brand The Mexican Collection, notes that three large diamonds “anchor” the center of the ring.
“An elongated cushion cut sits on the left, an oval on the right and a downward-facing pear at the bottom. Smaller pavé diamonds extend outward around them, creating a floral effect that gives the whole piece a sense of movement,” Curts says.
The Ring Style Was Once Considered ‘The Height of Romance’
Cluster rings “peaked in popularity during the Victorian and Edwardian periods,” per Curts.
Chris Bajda, an e-commerce entrepreneur and the managing partner of Grooms Day, says cluster rings, not solitaire rings that dominate now, were once “considered the height of romance.”
“The solitaire became the standard not because it was always the tradition but because it was heavily marketed as one,” he says.

Curts says the current resurgence of cluster rings is due to consumers’ “desire for something more personal rather than conventional.”
“This was already starting to happen before Lainey’s ring, but a beautifully crafted custom piece like this is making it happen at an even faster pace than before,” Curts says.
The Ring May Be Worth Up to $250,000
Determining the value of a custom piece of jewelry is “quite challenging,” per Curts.
“This one has a wide range depending on factors you simply can’t determine from photos alone: Diamond clarity, color grade and cut quality all move the needle considerably,” she says.
However, Curts estimates that the ring costs between $50,000 and 250,000 or above since the three primary diamonds appear to be approximately 2.50 carats each.
Ellison thinks the ring has between 7 and 10 carats of diamonds and was custom made by hand, which could put it in the $50,000 to $250,000 range.
The Pros and Cons of Cluster Rings
The biggest advantage to cluster rings is that you get “a lot more visual impact for your money,” Bajda says.
“Multiple smaller stones grouped can look just as stunning as a single large diamond at a fraction of the cost. For couples who want a ring that turns heads without spending six figures, a cluster is a really smart choice,” he says.
Design flexibility is another advantage to cluster rings.
“You can go floral, starburst, geometric or vintage and the style options are almost endless. That kind of freedom to express personality through design is something a solitaire just cannot match in the same way,” Bajda says.
The downside to cluster rings is the maintendance they require compared to simpler settings. For example, individual stones can loose and fall out if the ring isn’t inspected regularly.
“With multiple stones and intricate metal work, the prong and setting need to be checked much more often,” Curts says.
