The Detroit Tigers continued to slip with a brutal 5-3 walk-off loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday. The game was the first of a Sunday doubleheader in Baltimore.

In the bottom of the ninth, with Detroit holding a 3-2 lead, closer Kenley Jansen had a chance to get a major save. With two on in scoring position and two outs, Jansen was facing Colton Cowser at the plate, working ahead to an 0-2 count. On the third pitch, a 95 mph sinker in the heart of the plate, Cowser sent it deep into center field to get a three-run homer and win the game, 5-3.

That ending was tough enough for veteran Detroit announcer Dan Dickerson to express disbelief: “You’ve gotta be kidding me,” he said as the ball went into the stands.
