SANDY Ore. (KPTV) – At least one person is dead and an officer with the Sandy Police Department was shot and seriously injured in Sandy on Sunday evening, according to a source close to the investigation.
Sandy Police also said at about 8:30 p.m. that the suspect was in custody and the shelter in place order had been lifted.
This comes after Sandy Police said and other agencies responded to a domestic disturbance and reported shooting near Ross Ave and Evans Street at about 5 p.m. Shortly after, police asked people who live nearby to lock their doors and stay inside.
At about 7:30 p.m., police said the suspect was barricaded inside a house and asked people to continuing sheltering in place and avoid the area.
Meanwhile, just before 5 p.m., Scott Keyser, the mayor of Molalla, another town in Clackamas County, posted the following to his official Facebook page:
Witnesses at the scene told FOX 12 they heard multiple gunshots, but no other information has been released by officials at this time.
