Coming through qualifying, Ashlyn Krueger impressed this week with three wins in straight sets on grass. Janice Tjen, the No. 2 seed, struggled against Hibino (6-4, 3-6, 6-2) in her first match on grass. The momentum is with the American.

First meeting between the two players. Krueger, a former WTA 125 Gaiba champion in 2023, has 18 wins against 11 losses on grass. Tjen is playing only her second match on this surface.

At 6’1″ and with a first-serve percentage of 80% in her last match, Krueger can dominate on serve. Tjen, shorter, will need to try to break to stay in the match.
