DAMBULLA: Persistent rain washed out the second Twenty20 International between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in Dambullah without a ball being bowled on Friday.

The Salman Ali Agha-captained Pakistan lead the three-match series 1-0 after comfortably beating Sri Lanka by six wickets at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Wednesday.

The final game of the series will be played at the same venue on Sunday.

The series is a build-up for next month’s ICC T20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan, who play all their World Cup games in Sri Lanka, are scheduled to host Australia for a three-match T20 series before the World Cup begins from Feb 7.

Sri Lanka are also due to host England in a white-ball series later this month.
