As the final scene of Bridgerton season 4 faded to black, fans of Netflix’s hit regency-era romantic drama were left with an unexpectedly somber note before the bonus scene from the episode aired.
“In loving memory of Nicholas Braimbridge, Tony Cooper,” read a dedication card that followed the final scene from the season 4 finale. The moment was designed to pay tribute to two late members of the Bridgerton family, who both played a unique role in the production of the franchise.
Braimbridge worked as a Scenic Artist helping to bring the world of Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story to life through his craft. As a Scenic Artist, Braimbridge helped to build the world the show is set in with an expertise in marbling and wood grain finishes.
“Nick Braimbridge was a hugely talented Scenic Artist, who very sadly passed away last week. He was an expert faux finisher well known for his exquisite marbling and wood grain finishes, the knowledge of which was built up over years working with very top end interior designers and latterly within the film and TV industries,” wrote Alison Gartshore in a touching tribute following Braimbridge’s death in May 2025. “I worked closely with Nick and he was an integral part of our Art department team, and was a delightful, charming, funny man – a true gent. Everyone who met him loved him and we as a team are all very upset by his passing, he will be greatly missed.”
As Bridgerton fans know, attention to detail is a major aspect of the behind-the-scenes work of the show, with creatives such as Braimbridge playing a crucial role in bringing the world in which the show is set to life. It’s one of the many unsung behind-the-scenes roles that is such an integral part of the production, as Bridgerton would not be the show we all know and love without the stunning backdrops used to bring the world Julia Quinn created to life in the show.
Cooper was another part of the incredible behind-the-scenes team who passed away between seasons of the show. Cooper worked as a unit driver on Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, which entailed transporting the cast, crew, equipment, props to and from the various filming locations. The transportation team works to ensure all members of the cast and crew are safely transported while in production and also help to ensure that needed elements for production such as props and equipment arrive on time.
In addition to his work as a unit driver on Netflix’s Bridgerton shows, Cooper had an illustrious career in the transportation industry working on a number of hit titles! Cooper is credited for working as a driver on Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and Two, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Downton Abbey: A New Era, The Batman, Black Widow, The Crown, Spider-Man: Far from Home, Wonder Woman and countless additional major motion pictures and television shows.
We commend Netflix for giving space to honor both talented and beloved members of the Bridgerton family in the season 4 finale with a dedication card. On behalf of Netflix Life, our thoughts are with Braimbridge and Cooper’s loved ones as well as to the entire Bridgerton team.
