EAST TEXAS (KLTV) — A slow-moving upper level low pressure system will be approaching the Central Plains by the middle of the week.
Ahead of this system, breezy south winds will be bringing in more moisture to our region along with warmer than average temperatures. This will be fuel for multiple rounds of thunderstorms that will move across East Texas over the course of several days.
The first round of storms will arrive Wednesday afternoon/evening, and at least a few storms will have the capability to become strong to severe. A few more rounds of thunderstorms will be likely through the end of the week and into the following weekend. Additional First Alert Weather Days have been issued for Friday and Saturday. All severe weather threats will be possible, including strong, gusty winds, large hail and the possibility for isolated tornadoes.
Stay tuned for changes to the forecast as more details come into focus ahead of this storm system.
