With a diamond ring and a romantic, candlelit backdrop, Greek entrepreneur Georgios Frangoulis has proposed to tennis superstar Aryna Sabalenka. The Belarusian athlete happily accepted, and the couple is expected to marry in the near future.

The couple shared the news via a joint Instagram post, keeping the caption simple and heartfelt: “You and me forever. March 3, 2026.”

Aryna Sabalenka: A star in her prime

The 27-year-old Belarusian athlete is currently in peak form, remaining a consistent fixture at the No. 1 spot in the WTA rankings. With 22 career titles and over $46 million in career prize money, she is undeniably one of the sport’s greatest talents.

Their engagement follows a public, playful moment earlier this year. In January, after winning the Brisbane International, Sabalenka thanked her team and turned to Frangoulis during the trophy presentation. “I want to say thank you to my partner… hopefully, in a little while, I will call him something else,” she joked. “Let’s apply some extra pressure, okay?” Frangoulis smiled, appearing to take the hint.

The couple first went public with their relationship in April 2024, a month after the tragic death of Sabalenka’s former partner, Konstantin Koltsov. In an August 2024 interview with PEOPLE magazine, Sabalenka spoke openly about how Frangoulis had become her greatest source of support during that difficult period.

Last summer, following her triumphant US Open victory, Aryna Sabalenka took a step back from the tennis court to recharge in Greece. She took to Instagram to express her love for Greece, sharing a series of photos from her recent trip. She posted a series of photos from her vacation, which included a tender moment with her boyfriend, Giorgos Fragoulis, sharing a kiss.

Georgios Frangoulis: “I consider myself 100% Greek.”

Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, with roots in Thessaloniki, Greece, Frangoulis initially studied law at FAAP (Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado) in 2014. However, as he revealed in a 2023 Forbes Brazil interview, he never finished his degree or sat for the bar exam, knowing his true calling lay elsewhere.

“I always knew I wouldn’t be a lawyer,” Frangoulis said. “What I really wanted was to be an entrepreneur.”

He certainly succeeded. Frangoulis founded Oakberry, an açaí-focused superfood brand, in December 2016. The company quickly gained popularity for its açaí bowls and smoothies, expanding rapidly to over 700 locations across more than 40 countries. In late 2023, the brand secured $67 million in funding, cementing its position as a leader in the global superfood market.

The brand entered the Greek market in 2024, a move that was deeply important to the founder. Speaking to newmoney.gr, Frangoulis emphasized his connection to his heritage: “I am Greek, so there was no way I would be doing business in 45 countries and not include Greece. Even if I lost money here—which is not the case, of course—I wouldn’t have skipped it. I consider myself 100% Greek.”
