Somebody else is now feeding Phil. “Everybody Loves Raymond” creator-turned-ultimate-foodie Phil Rosenthal is on the move, signing a new deal with Banijay Americas that will see his “Somebody Feed Phil” franchise shifting platforms. Under the new deal, “Somebody Feed Phil” will move to YouTube starting next year.

The deal with Banijay launches in 2027 with Rosenthal’s Lucky Bastards production banner. As part of the pact, new episodes will appear on a “Phil Rosenthal World” YouTube channel, featuring “short- and long-form original content.”

The deal is also with Banijay Entertainment’s Banijay Rights global distribution arm, which promises to expand the Rosenthal brand across digital platforms including YouTube.

“Phil Rosenthal is one of the rare creators who consistently stays ahead of where the industry is going,” said Ben Samek, CEO Banijay Americas, in a statement. “Partnering with a filmmaker and storyteller of his caliber is incredibly exciting for us. Alongside Banijay Americas and Banijay Rights, we are proud to support Phil as he ushers his brand into its next era. YouTube represents a natural evolution and a place where audiences can engage with his voice and humor as we build a global digital home for Phil Rosenthal World.”

This actually reps the second time Rosenthal has switched platforms for his food travel series. Rosenthal first hosted the series “I’ll Have What Phil’s Having” on PBS in 2015. But when the public broadcaster couldn’t fund a second season, Netflix swooped in and gave him a new home. The retitled “Somebody Feed Phil” ran for eight seasons on Netflix, from 2018 to 2025.

The eight seasons of “Somebody Feed Phil” already on Netflix will continue there. His most recent season, which premiered last June, visited Amsterdam, Tbilisi, Manila, Boston and other locations.

Rosenthal recently made headlines as part of CBS’ ratings hit “Everybody Loves Raymond” reunion special, which he hosted with series star Ray Romano. Rosenthal also recently opened his own restaurant in Los Angeles, Max & Helen’s.

“One of the things I always loved about ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ was that it was free to watch everywhere,” Rosenthal said in a statement. “We are thrilled to announce that Somebody Feed Phil will move to YouTube, where our message of family, friendship, food, travel, and laughs can reach the most people.”

Deadline broke the news.
