STURGEON BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Sturgeon Bay officials say residents could be fined if they haven’t cleared snow from their sidewalks yet.
This comes more than a week after the historic Ides of March blizzard dumped 33 inches of snow on the city.
Under city ordinance, sidewalks must be cleared within 24 hours after a snowfall, but the city allowed extra time due to the large amount of snow.
Now, city officials say property owners will be billed for any crews that need to clear snow from residential sidewalks. Depositing snow from private property onto city streets is prohibited.
