Arkansas at risk for severe weather overnight
Hello folks, I’m Chief meteorologist RB by me, the 4029 TV.com forecast on this Tuesday, April 14th, and hey, uh, we certainly are watching for the risk of strong to severe storms later on tonight. Out there this afternoon looked really good, uh, but we are gonna make tonight *** severe night because now we’re seeing. Just enough potential there for severe storms actually getting into our area. We knew that that was going to be *** concern to the west of us, but how much of that gets into northwest Arkansas and the River Valley? Well, we’re seeing higher odds now that at least some of it gets into NWA, maybe less so in the River Valley, but the potential is going to be there as well for *** strong to severe storm. Uh, so as we go throughout the course of the evening as early as 9 or 10 p.m. There could be something in our area we’ll have to watch more likely as we get closer to midnight and after midnight in Northwest Arkansas and seeing *** little bit of this in the River Valley too. Take the model right here with *** big grain of salt. Our models are all over the place with exactly how this plays out, so I don’t think any one model actually knows how this plays out. The bottom line is later on tonight as early again as 9 or 10 p.m. in Northwest Arkansas in the River Valley. And then anytime after that, especially as we get closer to midnight thereafter, we’re seeing the chance for some of these storms to develop off to the west, getting into especially NWA, but maybe the River Valley too and all modes of severe weather possible here. We were telling you about this of course yesterday, uh, the only difference today is now we’re going to pull the trigger on *** severe night for tonight and. The overall risk for severe storm seems *** little bit higher. Could be *** tornado in there. We’ll have to watch for that, uh, some hail and some wind as well, so we’ll watch for all of that, uh, throughout the night and still some spotty to scattered shower and thunderstorm activity possible into tomorrow morning up to the lunch hour. Some scattered variety shower and thunderstorm activity still possible into the afternoon. Uh, so there will be chances really throughout the day on Wednesday for some rain. Overall severe risk during most of the day on Wednesday. Doesn’t look all that high, but it’s possible. It looks like *** greater risk does kind of emerge again as we go into the latter part of Wednesday, more toward Wednesday evening and Wednesday night, and you can see here we go again, again, especially in northwest Arkansas, but some of this inevitably getting into the river valley. And for Wednesday evening and Wednesday night, same deal. We’ll have to watch for all modes of severe weather. The overall risk seems *** little bit higher with that, but Uh, with the Wednesday evening, Wednesday night deal, but it, I don’t know, we’ll have to watch again tonight into tomorrow night too. All of it’s kind of ***, *** little bit of *** concern in there, not *** major risk for us admittedly, but some potential there for severe weather. So we’ll be keeping an eye out for it all the way into the early morning hours on Thursday with still, uh, some scattered shower and thunderstorm activity ongoing. Uh, by Thursday morning, things start to quiet down and then we get into Thursday afternoon and that looks beautiful. We’ll get some sunshine. *** little bit more anyway coming on through and it will warm up *** little bit too with highs back mostly in the low 80s for *** lot of us, maybe some mid 80s in the River Valley by Thursday afternoon we’ll see. Then we prime things and get another one coming through, uh, for the start of the weekend. Friday night we made that *** severe night too with *** pretty strong front that’s going to come through. It’ll bring *** risk of severe storms, but also bring in *** much cooler air mass. Just in time for the weekend, but overall not *** bad weekend. We’ll tell you what that means. Have *** lot more detail on all this including the weekend forecast coming up tonight, 456, and 10 on 4029, of course, at 9 p.m. on the CW.
