COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A former Ohio State Buckeye and current Columbus Aviators head coach has been charged with driving while intoxicated in Tarrant County, Texas.
Ted Ginn Jr. has posted a $1000 bond and has since been released.
A spokesperson with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office confirmed with ABC 6 he was arrested by the Euless Police Department and booked around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
Ginn is supposed to coach the aviators Sunday against Dallas at noon.
ABC 6 has contacted the Aviators and the United Football League about the charge.
“We are aware of an incident involving Head Coach Ted Ginn Jr. over the weekend and are in the process of gathering more information,” said UFL president & CEO Russ Brandon, regarding the incident, in a statement to our newsroom. “Offensive Coordinator Todd Haley will handle the head coaching duties for the Aviators game on Sunday.”
