CHICAGO (WLS) — The Chicago area is at risk for severe weather Tuesday starting int he afternoon.
ABC7 Accuweather Meteorologist Tracy Butler said the day will start off with foggy conditions and falling temperatures for areas north of I-80. Areas south of I-80 could see some sun and temperatures near 70.
Butler said the highest risk time for severe weather begins at about 4 p.m. and continues through midnight.
Main threats from the storm include large hail, damaging winds, flash flooding with the main tornado threat for areas south of I-80.
Most of Chicago, including south and southwest suburbs were placed under a Level 3 risk.
The north and northwest suburbs are under Level 2 risk.
