The Dallas Wings are off to the best start to a regular season since the franchise relocated from Tulsa after the 2015 season. They dominated Seattle Monday night en route to a 23-point win, in which they held Seattle to 33% shooting from the field.
Paige Bueckers had 10 points in the first half, and the Wings outrebounded Seattle 48-36. The Wings have beaten the previous two WNBA champions on their current three-game winning streak. Bueckers is still leading the team in points – top 10 in the league at 18 points per game.
The Wings take on the Los Angeles Sparks and the league’s leading scorer, Kelsey Plum (26.8 points per game), on Friday, June 5, in LA. First, the Sparks play the Las Vegas Aces, whom the Wings just beat last week, tonight (Tuesday, June 2). The Aces have the second-leading scorer in the WNBA, A’ja Wilson (24.8 ppg).
The Sparks beat the Wings all four times last season to sweep the matchup, though two of the games came down to one point.
First overall pick Azzi Fudd is in the top five in scoring for rookies at 12 points per game. Former TCU star Olivia Miles, who plays for Minnesota, is first.
