The Cleveland Cavaliers have been stellar in 2026, which dates back to the days when they had Darius Garland. However, they have turned it up even more with James Harden at the forefront as their point guard after the trade.

Harden has a gleaming resume for being the best point guard to have for a big man. He has done so with all kinds of big men over the years, and now he has two at his disposal with Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen.
Mobley is happy to be playing alongside Harden
Heading into their blockbuster matchup against the top-seeded Detroit Pistons on Friday, the Cavaliers had a 37-23 record. It was such an impressive record to have because they really struggled early in the season.
It was enough for people to put them out of title contention because they were not the same Cavaliers team that dominated the previous season. However, that changed with their rise in 2026 and Harden’s arrival in Cleveland.

The pick-and-roll is always a weapon when Harden is taking charge as the top playmaker. Considering Allen is a natural running mate, he is probably the best partner.
However, Mobley also benefits from the pick-and-roll and smart positioning. Moving forward, fans should expect that Mobley can be more potent on offense than before.
“It’s been great, him coming in, everyone’s just learning from his mindset. I mean, he’s been a great player in this league for a lot of years, so I feel like a lot of us are learning from it,” Mobley said about Harden’s impact in Cleveland.

“I like what we have right now, our new teammates, Schroder, Keon, and Harden. They have all been doing great so far, and we’re in a good spot right now.”
With this improved Cavaliers roster, the team is much better than before. Of course, parting ways with Garland was tough, but the Cavaliers have all the tools to become title contender this season with the star power they have.
