Sierra 6-0, 7-6(4) Raducanu

It’s an early exit for Emma Raducanu at Roland Garros. She falls in straight sets to Solana Sierra.

Raducanu made the second set fascinating. Needing to break to stay alive, Raducanu did that not once but TWICE, forcing a second set tiebreak.

Once the tiebreak started, Sierra found her footing. She grabbed a lead and never gave it up.

The last two points, Sierra tallied two consecutive backhand winners to win the match.

For Sierra, this is her best result at a French Open. For Raducanu, who only played one match coming into the French Open after two-and-a-half months off due to a post-viral illness, it’s back to the drawing board with the grass court season approaching.
