The New York Giants are entering a new era with John Harbaugh as head coach.

That will make free agency extra intriguing to watch, and it’s going to get rolling this week.

The rumors are coming fast and furious already, with ESPN’s Jordan Raanan providing a fascinating two-part report on Monday morning.

The good news for the Giants is this from Raanan:

“The #Giants are expected to be among the serious suitors for TE Isaiah Likely. Obviously there is the John Harbaugh connection from Baltimore.”

The bad?

“It would be adding an offensive weapon to mix with them likely losing Wan’Dale Robinson in FA.”

OK, so first Likely — he’d be a great pickup.

Likely never got a chance to shine as brightly as he would’ve liked in Baltimore behind Mark Andrews, and this is his first chance at free agency to seize a new opportunity.

It’d be a bit of a tricky fit with the Giants given the presence of Theo Johnson, but Likely would probably be able to break through and be TE1.

On the Robinson front, it’s a bit of a bummer, only because it seemed earlier in the offseason like folks thought he might stick around.

The Giants obviously don’t want to lose too many offensive weapons when Jaxson Dart is on the rise, so at least getting Likely would offset that loss a bit.

Things could still change of course, too, so it’ll be a busy week one way or another.
