Jalen Rose is making it clear he’s not here for the jokes.

The former NBA player and current analyst responded directly to a social media comment that compared him to Steve Harvey and questioned whether he wears a hairpiece. The exchange, which quickly gained traction online, began when a user referenced the long-running conversation about Harvey’s hair and suggested that Rose might fall into a similar category.

“Yall remember how we found out Steve Harvey was wearing a hair piece?? I think Jalen Rose is too,” wrote the fan; however, Rose didn’t entertain the comparison for long.

“I would never. You clearly don’t know where I’m from,” Rose wrote in response, firmly shutting down the speculation.

The reply struck a tone that blended humor with pride, as Rose leaned into his Detroit roots while dismissing the idea outright. The mention of Steve Harvey adds another layer to the moment, as the comedian and TV host has been the subject of public discussion about his hair for years, something that’s become part of pop culture lore.

It’s unclear what the fan meant by people finding out Harvey wore a hair piece as the comedian never confirmed or denied having one. However, in 2016, Harvey revealed he shaved his head to reinvent his look while also advocating for baldness.

For Rose, though, the message was simple: whatever assumptions are being made about fake hair do not apply to him.
