White made the announcement during an important moment in the UFC 326 broadcast on CBS. It marked the first time that the channel has aired an event since Paramount began a $7.7 billion partnership with the promotion in January.

UFC White House card confirmed by Dana White for June 14

During tonight’s UFC 326 broadcast on CBS, Dana White confirmed that the main event of UFC White House would be a lightweight title fight between the interim champion and the returning undisputed champion.

It will be one of two title fights on the card, with the co-main event pitting Alex Pereira against Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight title as Tom Aspinall awaits news on his comeback.

White also unveiled the rest of the event, which has been branded ‘Freedom Fights 250’ after the nation’s 250th birthday. Sean O’Malley will face Aiemann Zahabi, with Mauricio Ruffy taking on Michael Chandler and Bo Nickal battling Kyle Daukaus.

The card will kick off with a mouth-watering clash between Diego Lopes and Steve Garcia.

The event will feature just six fights, less than half of a usual numbered event or fight night. It is a special broadcast, and will land between UFC 328 and UFC 329 without being branded like what used to be a pay-per-view.

As with any major UFC event, it was not smooth sailing for Dana White or his team over the past 24 hours. While he was arriving at Friday’s Power Slap show, the UFC CEO learned that a fight had just fallen out at the eleventh hour.

Footage shared by MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn appeared to show the moment Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell revealed the news to matchmakers Sean Shelby and Mick Maynard. While the former managed to remain somewhat coy, the latter couldn’t help but exclaim something indecipherable.

After admitting to being hungover following a heavy night out with Kid Rock on Thursday, White appeared on Nina Drama’s stream, where he was asked about the card. “I’ll tell you something about the White House fight,” he began.

“So we’ve been working on this thing non-stop and one of the fights literally just fell out when I walked in here. I think Hunter k—ed himself. One of the fights fell off tonight, brutal.” When Drama replied that such news ‘wouldn’t help his hangover,’ White looked visibly irked.
