Kent power outage: Electricity restored after transformer blows near Chase Park


According to FirstEnergy, power has now been restored. 

Shortly after 6 a.m. on Monday, FirstEnergy’s power outage map showed that there were 1,894 customers in Kent without power. 

The Kent Police Department previously posted that the outage was impacting the east side and parts of the south side of Kent. 

Police also reminded residents to stay at least 30 feet away from any downed power lines or sparks/flames.
