King Green vs. Daniel Zellhuber UFC Fight Night 268 preview

Green (33-17-1 MMA, 14-12-1 UFC) enters on the heels of a split decision win over Lance Gibson Jr. in December. That result snapped a two-fight skid, with stoppage losses to Mauricio Ruffy and Paddy Pimblett.

Zellhuber (15-3 MMA, 3-3 UFC) will look to get back on track after a pair of decision losses to Eteban Ribovics and Michael Johnson. His last win was a unanimous decision over Francisco Prado, an incredible battle that earned Fight of the Night.

King Green vs. Daniel Zellhuber UFC Fight Night 268 expert pick, prediction

The main card in Mexico features a potential crossroads fight between Daniel Zellhuber and King Green.

Although Zellhuber is the young prospect in this equation, the Mexican has hit his fair share of hurdles since soaring into the octagon off the Contender Series. Zellhuber has also jumped around camps a bit ahead of this contest, but has been preparing at high elevation in Mexico City.

The elevation shouldn’t be an issue for Green (who is undefeated in Mexico), but the American’s durability has undeniably declined at this stage of his career.

Still, if Zellhuber hasn’t fixed his former issues opposite southpaws and can’t get Green out of there early, then I suspect that this fight will look much more competitive than the current betting odds are indicating.

It’s another dog or pass spot from a betting perspective, but I’ll reluctantly pick Zellhuber to squeeze out a decision win on the judges’ scorecards.
