Merry Christmas! Time to gather with family and friends (or spend a relaxing day by yourself) and enjoy the holiday.

But will you be able to get any errands done? Some restaurants and retail stores will be open, stock markets will be closed, but what about mail or your bank?

Here’s what to know.

Will the post office be open on Christmas?

All post offices are closed on Dec. 25 and frankly, they need the break. There will be no mail delivery. Delivery will resume at normal times Friday.

For those post offices with self-serve kiosks, some services are still available, such as:

  • Postage printing for Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express and international shipping
  • Stamps for purchase
  • Ability to weigh and mail packages
  • Package tracking information

The USPS website is also available for some services.

Does UPS deliver on Christmas Day?

There will be no UPS pickup or delivery service on Thursday, Dec. 25, Christmas Day, the UPS website said. UPS store locations may be closed, check with your local store.

UPS Express Critical service is available every day of the year, 24 hours a day.

Does FedEx deliver on Christmas Day?

FedEx does not deliver on Christmas and FedEx offices will be closed, according to the company website.

FedEx Custom Critical services will still be available 24/7.

Are banks open on Christmas?

Branches of Bank of America, Truist, PNC, Capital One, Wells Fargo, CitiBank, JPMorgan Chase, and other banks will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25. They’ll open back on at normal hours on Friday, Dec. 26.

Online banking services and ATMs will still be available, but any transactions made today won’t be posted until the next business day.
