Mindy Kaling had her next project cut out for her: her look for the Actor Awards 2026 (formerly known as the SAG Awards). Needless to say, she delivered. The comedian walked the carpet at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, in a little black dress that was anything but expected.

For her take on the night’s theme, “Reimagining Hollywood Glamour From the ‘20s and ‘30s,” Kaling reached for an LBD that was partially velvet, partially sheer, and totally fabulous. The Mindy Project star’s creation featured a strapless neckline, low back, surprising structural peplum, lace cutout panel at the bust, and completely see-through floor-sweeping skirt that featured dozens of glittery sequins and lace florals. She paired the centerpiece with black velvet opera gloves, pointed-toe pumps, and diamond drop earrings.

Kaling kept the drama coming with her beauty, styling her dark-brown hair down in soft curls with a middle part. She glammed up with dark bombshell makeup, complete with luminous skin, sun-kissed bronzer, flushed cheeks, defined eyebrows, shimmery eyeshadow, dark eyeliner, fluttery eyelashes, and glossy nude lips.

Kaling last attended the Actor Awards in 2021 virtually. She streamed in donning a regal blue gown that featured a straight neckline, cinched bodice, and cape detail. Then, she styled her dark hair down and sleek with a side part. She completed her look with dewy glam, complete with bronzy cheeks, glowy skin, and glossy lips.

The last time Mindy physically attended the ceremony was in 2014, when she walked the carpet in a David Meister creation that featured a cowl neckline, sleeveless design, cinched bodice, flowing floor-grazing skirt, and built-in belt. She added gold bangle bracelets, a gold clutch, and dangly earrings. She wore her medium-length locks down with a side part and finished everything off with a berry-colored lip.
