NASHVILLE, TN- For many of us the trip to nationals has become a vacation.
Whether it’s Frisco or Nashville – this football game has become standard business now a days.
“I feel great it’s been so much fun having them all here,” Molly Vigen said “ you say vacation — he’s here on work trip.”
Oh—the he she’s talking about, her husband, Head Football Coach Brent Vigen.
Vigen is joined on this trip by her sister, Katie, Katies son is also on the team, along with them, Hunter, Katies sons girlfriend, their nieces, and sister-in-law.
It’s a Bobcat family reunion.
“Its been amazing just to be part of it,” Katie Sansted said, “not only with our family but the family we have made.”
Sansted explained that the other moms, dads and coaches have all become close and with them all in town, they’re working to keep their mind elsewhere.
“I know the game is out there but I haven’t quite let myself get there yet,” Vigen said.
Vigen did explain that she and her husband have started a new tradition of deep breaths before the game.
The job is stressful, no doubt—but it’s a family affair.
Vigen has sons on the team in addition to her husband coaching. So she’s watching the defensive line very closely.
But with all the commotion Vigen and family took a break to check out from the stress of it all and went line dancing with Stompin’ Grounds Entertainment.
Stompin’ Grounds Entertainment is a family run line dancing class—and hosted the crew at Bootleggers Inn on Broadway.
(you’ll need to watch the video—but, its not as easy as you might think!)
Vigen has really embrace the role First Lady of the team, team mom—if you will—and she tries to be a support for players – but feel love from the fans as well.
“Just the send off, taking the bus to the airport – there were just people lining the streets – I know people who weren’t able to come and they will be here in spirit,” Vigen said.
Now—on that note it does feel like there are quite a bit of Cats fans here.
“Everyone we pass gives us a big “Go Cats,” we have even met some Griz fans,” Sansted said.
It doesn’t matter what side of the divide your on this week — we are all dancing for a Bobcat victory.
“It’s a long season it has ups and downs – just to be able to have this cap on the season, one more game with this team,” Vigen said, “it will be different texture as we know so it’s pretty awesome go out the way you want to go out.”
