Severe weather takes aim at Michiana this week, with several rounds of rain and storms expected.

High temperatures in the 70s and 80s, as well as dew points in the 60s, will give the atmosphere fuel for storms starting today and continuing through a solid chunk of the week.

The Storm Prediction Center has our area under a Level 2 risk for severe weather for Monday. Most of the day will be dry, but rain and storms become more likely by the evening.

All hazards are possible with this round of storms, with the biggest concerns being hail and damaging winds. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out either.

We will get a break from the rain heading into Tuesday morning.

Just like Monday, there will be some dry time Tuesday. The day will also be very warm with highs in the upper 70s once again, and humidity will be elevated.

Storms will track through our area Tuesday evening. The Storm Prediction Center has our whole area under a Level 2 risk for severe weather once again on Tuesday.

A line of rain and storms arrives with a boundary late Tuesday into early Wednesday.

With this round, all hazards are possible. The biggest concerns are hail and damaging winds.

This boundary does not cool us off very much — highs Wednesday will be in the low 70s. Humidity will still be elevated, and therefore rain and storms will likely continue through the day Wednesday. The Storm Prediction Center has us under a Level 1 risk for Wednesday.

It is still too early for exact details on Wednesday’s storms, however the threat for severe storms does look lower.
