Fans thirsty for any new content from the Heated Rivarly boys were thrilled over the weekend to discover a short film Hudson Williams made in 2024. It’s only just hit the internet.

The five-minute short, called Hold Your Back, was written and directed by Vancouver-based creative Zack Fonzovs. Williams produced it, and he and Fonzovs take the lead roles. They play a gay couple in the midst of a break-up.

“I made this film back in 2024 for the @sngfest and ever since then it’s just been living on my hard drive,” said Fonzovs in an accompanying caption.

“Art should not be hidden in a vacuum,” he continued. “And although there are things I would’ve liked to have done differently with this film, I’m still immensely proud of it and everyone who helped make it.

“@hudsonwilliamsofficial is the reason this movie exists,” Fonzovs says. “He filled me with enough passion and help to go through with its creation.

“So with his newfound and well deserved recognition, I figured why not give the world more of the brilliant Hudson. We got many more movies and stories to come, and I’m beyond stoked to start sharing them.”

Williams also shared the post to his own Instagram and was among those to comment, saying, “Very proud to have you as a friend and collaborator Zack ❤️”

Matching tattoos

Heated Rivalry diehards will probably already know that Williams and Storrie are the latest performers to record a story for the ‘romantasy’ audiobooks app Quinn. The men narrate a tale called Ember & Ice.

The three-episode series dropped on December 30. It’s a same-sex romance and follows Dane (Connor Storrie) and Finn (Hudson Williams), “two fae princes from feuding courts. They carry on a years-long forbidden affair that culminates in a pivotal moment at a treaty signing between their families.”

Quinn started promoting the release last week.

Over the weekend, Quinn put a 33-minute interview with the men up on YouTube.

The actors discuss a range of topics in response to prompt questions. At one stage (at the 5.16 mark), they confirm they got matching tattoos saying “Sex Sells”. Storrie says he went to visit Williams in Vancouver.

“I just came up to see you,” he says to Williams. “We knew we wanted to get matching tattoos. I hadn’t gotten a tattoo in forever. And we were just shuffling through ideas.

“I think you came up with Sex [Sells],” says Williams. “But we were both pitching ideas and one person would like them, the other person wouldn’t, and then when you said ‘Sex Sells’, I was like, oh … that’s the first idea you’ve had that’s good.”

Storrie pulls up his trouser leg to reveal the tattoo on his shin. Williams does not reveal his, but has previously said it’s on his upper thigh.

The men also discuss their favourite gay-themed movies (Brokeback Mountain, Moonlight, and Call Me By Your Name), the amount of meat they both ate to get musclebound for their roles in Heated Rivarly, and Williams’ skincare routine.
