Confident Group Chairman CJ Roy was found dead on Friday, January 30, at his Langford Road bungalow. According to sources, he died during a raid by officials. Though initial reports say that he shot himself, the police have yet to confirm this. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), Akshay Hakay, confirmed the death to TNM.

Roy was rushed to a small private hospital and then shifted to Narayana Hospital at HSR layout for immediate medical attention, but was confirmed dead. According to the police, he reached his office on Richmond Road in the afternoon.
