The 2026 FIFA World Cup is coming, a bucket list sporting event for way more than just soccer fans. Canada is one of the three hosts, but they still don't know who they will face in the team's opening game.
The World Cup opens on June 11 when Mexico faces South Africa. Canada will have their first game on June 12, but the opponent has yet to be determined. Canada will face the winner of UEFA playoff A, which is a mini-tournament, including Wales, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Italy and Northern Ireland. The tournament final is scheduled for March 31. But tickets are already available for whoever Canada ends up facing.
