Trader Joe’s mini canvas tote bags inspire DIY trend
Trader Joe’s released their viral mini totes once again, fans are making the bags unique by giving them a serious style upgrade.
Trader Joe's has unveiled a new tote bag ahead of summertime and we're sure fans won't keep their cool about it.
The grocery chain told USA TODAY its newest tote is an insulated mini tote bag and will be available in six colors. According to the company, the bags have a capacity of 1.5 gallons and will cost about $4. The tote features a zipper top and two reinforced handles.
In addition to the insulated totes, the grocery chain also recently confirmed plans to offer a new striped mini canvas tote this summer, although more details regarding those have yet to announced.

Customers can purchase the insulated mini tote beginning May 20 at Trader Joe's stores nationwide. They will be available for a limited time while supplies last. They will cost $3.99.

A lavender version of the $8.99 reusable insulated bag recently debuted in stores. The chain brought back the pastel mini canvas tote bags in March and launched a new large canvas bag.
The compact totes have developed a cult‑like following among the store's customers and the fashion-conscious. The bags first went viral in March 2024, becoming so popular on social media that procuring one has become increasingly difficult.
Trader Joe's totes have also found fans abroad, with bags listed on international marketplaces, including Coupang, Depop, and Karrot, as well as eBay and Mercari.
With no Trader Joe's stores abroad, resale prices listed by U.S. shoppers are often dramatically higher than in‑store prices, sometimes exceeding $1,000.
Despite Black Friday–style lines, limited quantities, and resellers charging exorbitant prices, the tote has become a must‑have staple, with fans lining up for each new release.
