MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - A death investigation is underway after a shooting Tuesday evening, according to the Montgomery Police Department.

MPD responded at 6:19 p.m. to the 200 block of East Delano Avenue after a report of a shooting. Officers found a man, now identified as Dacareo Banks, 22, of Montgomery, with life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

The shooting remains under investigation.
