Washington Commanders CB Marshon Lattimore arrested in Lakewood on weapons charges, police say

LAKEWOOD, Ohio — Washington Commanders cornerback Marshon Lattimore was arrested Wednesday evening in Lakewood, according to police records obtained by 3News.

Lakewood police arrested Lattimore in the 11700 block of Clifton Boulevard on Jan. 7 at approximately 6:14 p.m., police records show.

He was arrested on charges of carrying concealed weapons and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, according to police.

The Commanders released the following statement to 3News regarding his arrest:

"We have been made aware of the arrest and are gathering more information. We are in communication with the NFL League Office and have no further comment at this time."

Lattimore, 29, was selected by the New Orleans Saints with the 11th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

He spent nearly eight full seasons with the Saints before being traded to the Washington Commanders during the 2024 season.

On Nov. 3, 2025, the Commanders announced that the four-time Pro Bowl cornerback suffered a season-ending ACL injury during the team’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.

A former standout athlete at Cleveland's Glenville High School, Lattimore spent his college career at Ohio State, where he earned first-team All-Big Ten honors in 2016.

PREVIOUS CRIMINAL HISTORY 

3News previously reported in March 2021 that Lattimore was arrested in Cleveland.

Authorities previously stated that Lattimore was pulled over around 10:30 p.m. due to "multiple traffic violations."

Officers claimed to have seen a loaded handgun and a records check apparently showed the weapon to be stolen out of Euclid. Lattimore was a passenger in the vehicle and a second passenger, along with the driver, was also taken into custody.

In November 2021, Lattimore pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon, a first-degree misdemeanor, in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. Judge Brendan Sheehan sentenced Lattimore to 180 days in jail, but the sentence was suspended.

Instead, Lattimore was placed on one year of non-reporting probation and was required to follow all rules set by the probation department.

According to Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court records, he was taken off of "non-reporting supervision" in May of 2022 after paying all costs and fees in full.
