Washington football legend Sonny Jurgensen dies at 91

WASHINGTON (7News) — The great Redskins quarterback Christian A. "Sonny" Jurgensen, III, died at age 91 on Friday, according to the Commanders.

Jurgensen was a long-time Washingtonian and spent 55 years in the city. He retired from broadcasting in 2019, according to 7News' partner WTOP.

Jurgensen was inducted into the football Hall of Fame in 1983. He retired from the game in 1974.
