Two bicyclists competing in the BillBone Olympic Triathlon were hospitalized after a crash with a vehicle, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday night. The triathlon, which took place in the morning, included a 40-kilometer bike ride, as well as swimming and running events at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach. It was run by Bill Bone, who co-founded BillBone Law GroupThe two bicyclists were injured while competing along the route, PBSO spokeswoman Teri Barbera told WPBF.Ashleigh Whitton, 45, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, suffered serious injuries and Miguel Junior Gomez, 46, of Oakland Park, had injuries that were listed by PBSO as minor. They were taken to local hospitals, PBSO said.
