X, formerly Twitter, experienced a possible outage Thursday, with thousands of users reporting issues, according to Downdetector.com.

More than 5,000 users had reported problems with the platform as of 6:47 p.m. PT, according to Downdetector, which tracks outages by collecting status reports from multiple sources.

Most users reporting problems to Downdetector said they were experiencing issues with the mobile application.
