PORTLAND, Ore. — Five players could be sidelined by injuries ahead of the Portland Fire’s first preseason game against the Seattle Storm on Wednesday.
Veteran guard Karlie Samuelson, whom the Fire signed in free agency, will be out with a left foot injury. Guard Sug Sutton is out with a right knee injury, and Slovenian guard Teja Oblak is out with a quadriceps injury, the team said.
Maya Calwell is also out due to illness, according to an update from the team early Wednesday evening.
French guard Carla Leite is listed as available (concussion), while Haley Jones (left foot) is probable and Kamiah Smalls (left knee) is doubtful.
Bridget Carleton, Chloe Bibby and Frieda Bühner are all listed as not with team.

The Fire’s preseason opener against the Storm will air on KPDX Fox 12 Plus. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
